Vibro-acoustic testing
The Sopemea group has developed specific test equipment to appreciate acoustic loss following vibration endurance and detect unwanted noise (loudness) in equipment depending on a specific road profile. To do so, Sopemea has an anechoic chamber fitted with a 20 kN electrohydraulic shaker working in a frequency range of 1 to 100 Hz.
On request, we conduct comparative subjective listening tests (pre- and post-endurance).
Application examples: Dashboard, seats, automobile passenger compartment components, etc.

- Vibration & Shock
- High & Low Temperature
- Humidity
- Thermal Cycling / Shock
- Altitude
- Salt Mist / Corrosion
- Dust & Water Ingress Protection
- Highly Accelerated Life Testing
- Impact
- Endurance Rig
- Freefall Drop
PARC operates on three of the core group’s businesses to ensure the reliability of your products :
Support
- Performing tests services
- Maintenance of test equipment
The UK laboratory PARC holds accreditation UKAS 2379, “United Kingdom Accreditation Service”, the national accreditation for the United Kingdom, equivalent to French COFRAC.
VIBRATION TESTING
The electrodynamic vibration tables allow a wide range of sinusoidal, random and sine on random vibration. Shock and Bump tests can be applied in all
three axes using either half sine, terminal peak sawtooth (TPS) or Shock Response Spectra (SRS) waveforms.
The Ling Dynamics V964 offers increased capability with a Random Force RMS of 89.0 kN.
Combined with the Vötsch VCV 7100 chamber the V875 allows the full range of vibration and shock tests to be carried out over a wide range of temperature and humidity conditions, including cyclic régimes.
Equipment :
Five electromagnetic vibration tables with the capability to test up to 1500kg.
CLIMATIC TESTING
An extensive range of requirements for Climatic Testing can be met using our wide variety of environmental test chambers. PARC can offer temperatures ranging from -70°C to +180°C for both endurance and cyclic testing. Humidity or damp heat conditions can be achieved over the range of 15% to 98% Relative Humidity (RH).
SALT SPRAY TESTING
Through salt spray testing we are able to provide conditions which considerably accelerate the corrosion process. This means that results can be achieved in a short period of time.
INGRESS TESTING
Meeting the requirements of BS EN 60529 and 60598 Standards, our water spray chamber has a rotating table and 800mm radius spray bar, sweeping over a 360º arc. PARC can also provide immersion to level 8 and high pressure/high temperature testing to IPX9. The dust chamber provides dust ingress testing to the dust-protected (IP5) and dust-tight (IP6) categories, by applying a turbulent talc test with reduced pressure (where applicable).
HALT TESTING
The Screening Systems QRS 410-T is a HALT chamber capable of applying up to 25 grms of random vibration in 6 axes simultaneously, whilst cycling the temperature between -60°C and +150°C, at rates of change of up to 60°C per minute. Thus the maximum stress screening for components in the minimum time is achieved.
Product Assessment & Reliability Centre Ltd. offers two levels of support for HALT:
- Use of the HALT facility with a basic level of support, covering operation of the chamber.
- Consultancy to assist in tailoring the HALT profile to your specific product and to guide you through the test process.
ALTITUDE TESTING
P.A.R.C.’s low pressure test facility combines the simulation of high altitude (up to 100,000 feet) with the added functionality of altering the ambient temperature and humidity conditions.
The equivalent altitude can be adjusted at rates up to 5,000 feet per minute.
Temperature conditions can be adjusted at rates up to 2°C per minute between the extremes -70°C and +180°C.
