One June 7th, technical directors, engineers and sales managers attended a Technical Morning in Sopemea’s premises. The event was held to provide insights into the new qualification of equipment based on RCC-E and RCC-M Design and Construction Rules.

Charles de Bouville, representing Apave Sud-Europe, Alexandra Backelandt, technical deputy to the Head of Testing and Bernard Colomies, Director – Techniques and Expertise, gave talks covering, respectively, the changes that have occurred within the RCC-E code between 2012 and 2016, the qualification of equipment according to RCC-E, and the new qualification module for active mechanical devices within RCC-M 2017.

31 nuclear industry companies attended the meetings, including CLEMESSY, DAHER VALVES, EMERSON, JEUMONT ELECTRIC, MOTEURS LEROY SOMER, and WEIR. Around 40 clients then visited the laboratory and its testing facilities.

Attendees visited the laboratories at the end of the presentation.

Sopemea is a member of the Association Française pour les règles de Conception, de construction et de surveillance en exploitation des matériels des Chaudières Electro Nucléaires (AFCEN).In this respect, Bernard Colomies – who sits on the RCC-M commission – spoke on an innovative topic during the event.

This technical meeting was the first presentation given by Sopeama jointly with Apave on nuclear-related issues and demonstrated the complementary nature of their expertise in the field of the RCC-E code. A second Technical Meeting on nuclear-related themes is scheduled in the premises of Sopavib in December.
